Meet Kimberly

KIMBERLY'S TRUTHS • MY STORY • SUNRISE WITH JESUS

I’m Kimberly—and my story is still being written.

I’m a wife, mom, grandma, Christian, seminary student, writer, community advocate, and someone who believes there is almost always a reason to laugh—even when life gets messy.

For much of my life, I thought being strong meant handling everything myself. I became very good at getting back up when life knocked me down, taking care of the people around me, solving problems, and pushing through pain. What I didn’t understand was that I was carrying wounds I had never really allowed to heal.

Smiling woman wearing a cowboy hat and plaid shirt.

When I finally felt at Home!

At 49, my life changed.

I walked into a church I never wanted to attend and began discovering the Jesus I thought I already knew. I soon realized that finding Christ didn’t erase my past or suddenly make me a different person.

I was still Kimberly. I had just found a love that gave me a reason to live differently.

Since then, my faith has taken me places I never expected. I’ve studied Scripture, attended seminary, served people experiencing homelessness and hardship, advocated for children and families, worked alongside people rebuilding their lives, led Alpha, traveled on mission trips, and continued learning what it really means to trust God instead of trying to control everything myself.

But please don't mistake all that for having life figured out.

Why I’m Sharing My Story

For years, I felt God placing a book on my heart.

I kept thinking, Someday.

Someday finally came.

As I've begun going back through my life, I've realized this isn't simply a story about everything that happened to me. It's about what happened inside me because of it—and what God eventually did with all of it.

I'm writing about the good, the painful, the embarrassing, the funny, and even the things I wish I could change.

Not because I want people to look at my life and think I'm extraordinary.

Quite the opposite.

I want someone to recognize themselves in it.

Maybe you've made choices you regret.

Maybe you've spent your life taking care of everybody else.

Maybe you've wondered why you never quite fit in.

Maybe you've been hurt by people who were supposed to love you.

Maybe you believe in God but aren't so sure about church.

Or maybe you've convinced yourself that you've gone too far for God to do anything meaningful with your life.

I once thought strength meant surviving all of that.

Today I know something different.

Maybe I was never getting back up alone.

And if sharing my journey helps even one person begin looking for the God who was there all along, then telling the hard parts will have been worth it.

A Few Things About Me

Faith comes first. Family means everything to me. I love helping the person everyone else overlooks. I love mountains, hiking, traveling, coffee, sunrises, making people laugh, and conversations about Jesus.

I believe people matter more than appearances.

And I've learned not to put too much weight on who someone tells me they are:

“Don't tell me who you are. I'll watch how you treat people when nobody important is looking.”

Most of all, I'm still learning.

Still healing.

Still laughing.

Still following Jesus.

Still becoming the woman God always saw.

And the story is still being written. ❤️

Kimberly’s Truths

Things life taught me. Things Jesus helped me understand.

I’ve learned a lot of lessons the hard way.

Some came through mistakes. Some through heartbreak. Some through raising children, relationships, loss, forgiveness, and starting over. And some I didn’t understand until I began walking with Jesus.

I call them Kimberly’s Truths.

They aren’t rules for how everyone else should live. They’re simply truths I’ve discovered while living my own very imperfect life.

Some will make you think.

Some might make you laugh.

Some may step on your toes a little. 😂

And every once in a while, you might read one and think:

“Oh, my goodness. That’s me.”

That’s why I’m sharing them.

Kimberly’s Truth

“Don’t tell me who you are.
I’ll watch how you treat people
when nobody important is looking.”

Character shows up most clearly when there is nothing to gain.

Then another:

Kimberly’s Truth

You can love Jesus and still be a work in progress.

Faith didn’t suddenly make me perfect. It finally gave me Someone to walk with while I was becoming who I was meant to be.

And one that has become incredibly important to the book:

Kimberly’s Truth

Maybe I was never getting back up alone.

For years I called it strength. Looking back, I can see there were times God was carrying me long before I knew enough to recognize Him.

More truths are coming...

As I write my story, I keep discovering little pieces of wisdom hiding inside memories I thought were simply memories.

So this page will keep growing.

Because I'm still learning.
I'm still becoming.
And the story is still being written. ❤️

Sunrise With Jesus 🌅

Some of my favorite moments with Jesus happen before most people are awake.

I love getting up early, spending time in Scripture, and heading outside to walk as the sun begins to rise. Watching the darkness slowly disappear and the morning light take its place makes me feel incredibly close to God.

I call these mornings Sunrise with Jesus.

They aren't complicated. I don't need the perfect prayer, the perfect devotional, or all the answers. Sometimes I pray. Sometimes I listen. Sometimes I wrestle with something I've read in the Bible. And sometimes I simply walk, look at the sunrise, and thank God for another day.

Over the years, I've learned that my relationship with Jesus isn't something that happens only on Sunday morning.

He meets me right here—in ordinary moments, on ordinary mornings, in the middle of my ordinary life.

This is where I slow down enough to listen.

Where I remember that His mercies really are new every morning.

Where I can bring Him yesterday's mistakes and today's worries.

And where I'm reminded that I don't have to know exactly where the road ahead is going.

I just have to keep walking with Him.

Coffee. Scripture. Sunrise. Jesus.

What a beautiful way to begin another page of a story that is still being written. ❤️🌅🙏🏻
